How are you losing weight?
The healthy way and with a lot of hard work and patience!
What kinds of foods do you eat?
I eat pretty much everything; the only difference between my diet now and my diet before I started losing weight is that I now make healthier choices. I haven’t cut out things like bread, or dairy. Instead I choose things like whole grain pasta instead of white, low fat dairy products, lean meats, zero calorie drinks / water, frozen yogurt instead of ice cream, baked potato chips, homemade oven french fries with PAM cooking spray, etc. You don’t have to give up the food you love. You just have to become aware that there are healthy options or switches you can make.
What do you do to exercise?
Running is my favourite. I put the incline up a little and try and beat my time from the day before. Other than that I do some biking, swimming and youtube workout videos.
How often and for how long do you exercise?
I try and get a minimum of 30 minutes of some form of exercise every day.
How long has it taken you to lose the weight?
I started my weight loss journey in early March, 2011 weighing 187 pounds.
How do I get over a plateau?
Try mixing up your diet and exercise routine. This shocks your body out of habit and it should get the number on the scale to change.
OR try increasing your calorie intake for a couple of days and then dropping it back down to where it was.
I’ve got a larger stomach / legs / arms / back / etc. How do I get rid of it?
Unfortunately, it’s impossible to choose one part of your body and just lose weight in that area. Cardio is your best option for fat loss! So, things like running, walking, biking, swimming, dancing, and kick boxing are excellent for all around fat loss!
How do you find motivation?
I’ve got a list of every reason why I want to lose weight that I started at my highest weight. Every time I feel like giving up or I get frustrated, I go back to my list to remind myself why I’m putting all this effort in in the first place.
Write down every reason (whether it’s something shallow like buying nice clothing, or something serious like changing your health for the better. Write it down!). Add some colour and pictures to make it attractive! :)
I am this tall ____ and I weigh this much ____. How long would it take me to lose __ pounds?
I really don’t know. It depends on so many things. Eat right, exercise and find out how long it will take you! Weight loss isn’t about speed.

120 is underweight for your height.
I know. BMI is great for a general picture of what you should weigh, but you have to remember that everyone’s body is different. Some people can technically be “overweight” and still healthy, and vice versa. I’m being as careful and as healthy as I can. 120 isn’t set in stone either.
